When I moved to the North East in 2000, I knew very little of the area. Now I can't imagine living anywhere else. That is partly due to the beautiful landscapes and seascapes that seem, even now, a well-kept secret. The Northumberland Coast in particular is stunning, from Berwick upon Tweed and Holy Island in the north, down to Druridge Bay in the South. Warkworth Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle, Embleton Bay, Craster - all places that I never tire of visiting. Inland you have the World Heritage site of Hadrian's Wall, the quiet, isolated beauty of Kielder Water and it's Dark Skies status, and Alnwick Castle and Garden, plus much much more. For a photographer, it's a wonderful place to live.
Thank you for the beautiful picture of Embleton Bay which I received today. It brings back wonderful childhood memories of summer holidays spent there!
